Tangent Tower

The Tangent Tower is the most common tower type in high-voltage overhead transmission lines. It supports the conductors and bears vertical loads including conductor weight, ice weight, and wind pressure. Unlike other tower types, the Tangent Tower does not withstand line turning forces. The insulator strings hang vertically. This design keeps the structure simple and the forces clear. Qingdao Hongyuanfeng Power Equipment Co., Ltd. manufactures Tangent Towers using hot-dip galvanized angle steel truss structures with symmetrical cross-arm designs. The structure is light, the forces are evenly distributed, and the cost is economical. Every component receives hot-dip galvanizing with a zinc coating thickness of at least 86μm. This meets the GB/T 2694-2018 standard for transmission tower manufacturing. The design service life exceeds 30 years.

Our Tangent Towers cover voltage levels from 110kV to ±1100kV. They support single-circuit, double-circuit, and multi-circuit layouts. We offer common tower shapes including cup-type, cat-head-type, and dry-type. The technical specifications are clear: maximum wind speed capacity is 35 m/s, and the earthquake resistance reaches grade 8. The nominal height ranges from 18 meters to 51 meters, customized based on terrain and crossing requirements. The horizontal span typically falls between 200 meters and 600 meters. The main structural material is Q235B or Q355B national standard angle steel. We assemble all components with bolt connections. Our production facility includes 4 large laser cutting machines, 8 fully automatic angle steel production lines, and 2 high-speed automatic angle steel drilling production lines. These machines ensure precision and fast delivery for every order.

Qingdao Hongyuanfeng Power Equipment Co., Ltd. started operations in 2019. Our factory is located in Beiguan Industrial Park, Jiaozhou, Qingdao. The facility covers 151 mu (about 10 hectares) and employs approximately 120 workers. We hold 14 patents, 2 registered trademarks, and 3 administrative licenses. Our certified quality inspectors monitor every batch from raw material arrival to finished product shipping. We strictly follow GB/T 2694-2018 throughout production. All components are factory-prefabricated and assembled on-site with bolts. This makes installation fast and the structural performance excellent. We have passed quality management, environmental management, and occupational health and safety management system certifications. We are also recognized as a "High-tech Enterprise" and a "Qingdao Specialized and Sophisticated SME."

Our Tangent Towers have been used in many major power transmission projects across China. We supplied towers for the Jiuquan DC 500kV ultra-high voltage project, the Qinghai-Shandong DC 500kV ultra-high voltage project, and the Jiangsu-Sichuan DC 800kV ultra-high voltage project. These projects cover plains, hills, and mountains. They prove the product's adaptability and long-term reliability. In the Xinjiang Changji Dajingnan Step-up Station 220kV transmission project, we built 116 towers, of which 97 were Tangent Towers. Industry data shows that Tangent Towers make up 60% to 75% of all transmission line towers. Our products also serve the Qinghai-Tibet interconnection project and many other key power construction projects in China and abroad.
